Beginings / Re: Welcome to nothingness (Day 1)

When she came back, Scarlet was cleaning something off with a piece of cloth. She also had a large broken sword hilt hanging from her side. As she came closer, she smiled and waved something small and shiny around. "I didn't find much, I found something pretty" She said happily.

"Could be we were not the first to try today. The village has been putting out bounties for a while now..." She said as she began to drag her blade down its side. "Which means there may be something good in its gut" She said with a devilish smirk.
As she walked, she nodded in response to Kanhel. "Thatd be a pain though. Just sever its largest fangs. That should be proof enough"

Kornells bash ends up on Fire, scorching the serpent where he made contact. Kanhels arrows then strike all within the burned area, piercing the serpent through its bottom jaw and into the top of its head. The beast spews blood as it lets out a pained roar before its head falls to the ground, pushing the arrows straight through its skull. Scarlet comes back up to the front of the beast as it finally stops moving. She looked at the serpent and poked it with the tip of her sword a few times. "... Well done, guys!" She says with a smile as she jabs at it. "That was way easier than I thought it would be!"

Scarlet held her free hand out, and closed her eyes. When the serpent made another pass around, her palm began to glow. "Erubescant ex anima vestra" She called out toward the beast, but nothing seemed to happen. After a moment, she smirked and lowered her hand. "Serpent type T (toxic). Poisonous bite, constrict. Strenght 10, speed 15. Health level 80, no magical capability... Weakness: Electricity, Magic" She recited these statistics absentmindedly as she readied her sword. "I am going to immobilize it momentarily. When I do, unleash all the force you can on it at once. If you have any special skills, do not hesitate to use them." She took a starting position, as if she was a runner on a track. As she took her position, the serpent made its final lap around before beginning to move its head into the circle. "Go!" She shouted, and took off at the creature, her movement kicking back a small gust of wind. As she ran, she slid her thumb across the blade of her sword, and it began to glow a faint blue when it touched her blood. The serpent lunged at her as she drew closer, but she dodged to the left, and began dragging the blade across its scales on that side in one elegant motion. It quickly tried to turn itself toward her, but it spasmed and stopped moving, its eyes widened.

"Excelent!" She said happily. "Ok, so this serpent... Hes not so afraid of the tree. I was... Kinda waiting for him."
As soon as the words left her lips, they would hear movement behind them, like the trees being pushed aside. She had fixed her gaze on where they came in, her sword drawn again. For a moment, the great serpent peaked his head into the entrance, but then continued to move around, circling the area of light like a shark.
"Speak of the devil..." She said with a sigh. "He wont come into the area of the trees light for long, but that doesn't mean we are safe. Be ready."

The woman was silent for a moment. After considering the situation, she sheathed her sword. "This is the forests center, its heart. The reason it is so bright here, why this tree gives off these orbs of light. It keeps the beasts away. They tend to avoid light because they mistake it for these orbs..." She paused for a moment  before returning to her place at the base of the tree, letting out a relaxed sigh, and even letting a smile creep across her lips. She seemed to feel safer knowing what little she did of them for some reason. "As for me, I am here to take care of a particularly troublesome beast. There is a serpent-like creature out here somewhere. It has been attacking Eridanus, the village you plan to visit, kidnapping and presumably eating the villagers." She paused again, giving them a smirk. "If you were to help, I am sure the village would see fit to reward your efforts as best they can."

"... Scarlet... Why are you out here in this forest?" She asked, sounding less hostile, but never lowering her blade or averting her gaze.

The young woman moves quickly to her feet in reaction to the sound of another person. She quickly draws her sword and directs her ruby red eyes on Kornell, wary of his presence.
"Who are you?" She asks coldly. "Hands in the air, step closer so I can see you. Your friend too." She demands, glancing at Kanhel.

As you walk, the creatures from before, as well as some humanoid looking ones* can be seen running about or staring. They keep their distance, however, not wanting to come into the light. As you walk along, the path gently curves, but does not split into separate paths for quite a while. On occasion, small lights can be seen in the distance, up higher than the eyes of the creatures of the forest. Usually only one light can be seen at a time, but sometimes two are seen near eachother.
After much walking, you will see a light in the distance. This light is a clearing in the forest. Across from where you enter is the continuation of your path, and at the clearings center, a tree. The tree is much larger and thicker than the ones that make up the forest, and small odd orbs of light adorn its branches, casting a glow over the area akin to that of a lamp.
Sitting at the base of the tree is a young woman**, her eyes closed, holding a sheathed katana close to her.

The shadows are momentarily exposed as quadruped wolf-like beasts with black fur and glowing eyes. They seem much smaller than the creatures outside the forest, and very clearly unrelated. Soon after they see the fire, they run off deeper into the forest. Ahead lie many thick trees that would be very difficult to maneuver around. However, not far from the groups location seems to be a path cutting through the forest, likely made by past travelers. The path leads to the left and right, and the darkness of the forest prevent one from seeing far enough ahead to see if they take any turns.

The obvious loose tree branches scattered about would be easy to start a fire with. The downed branches are many in number, as if they were often broken off by the creatures here just from them moving about. Out in the dark, the peering eyes of what one would assume were said creatures faded in and out of sight, stealing any way to figure out their numbers.

Kaji laughed. "I would, but like I've said, its my job here to help the newbies. Someone has to keep them from running out here empty handed."
Kaji waved for awhile after they left, leaving only once they were out of ear shot. Once they were that far, they had come upon the forests edge. The creatures about them were far enough away that they would not yet pursue them. Ahead, the trees were thick, and it became far darker than it was out in the open. The farther one would peer into the darkness, the more they would feel something was returning this gaze.

Kaji nodded and headed out, leading them. Soon, they reached the edge of the town of Zewiluna. Beyond this abrupt end was a large open field, the world still tinted a purple hue beyond. Far across this field was a line of trees that seemed to take up the whole foreseeable horizon, as if there were no way to circumvent it. In the field, closer to the tree line, one could see some odd creatures roaming around. However, they were few and far apart.
"This is as far as I go, I'm afraid. The closest village is beyond those woods... I wish you all the luck. I would pray for your safe travels as well, but the only god here is why I must be concerned in the first place..."

(Tis quite alright. Life takes priority ofcorse :) )
