Title: Welcome to nothingness (Day 1)
Post by: Lord Mu on February 03, 2014, 10:05:54 pm
One by one, you each awaken, surrounded by those both awakened and still out cold.  You look about to see you are in a medieval style city, not quite a castle town, but thriving none the less. The sky is dark and no stars shine, yet two moons bathe the sky in a somber purple hue. Despite the appearance of night, the city is alive as if mid-day.

The sounds of people around him cause Kornell's eyes to shutter. he slowly opens them to see he was lying on the ground in the middle of a town "w-when did I......how did I.....where am I?" he questions groggily as he looks around.

Soon after Kornell's awaken, a silver haired boy slowly sat up from his position, his dull red eyes filled with confusion at his new surroundings after waking up fully.

"Ah, good. Maybe there is hope for this batch."
The voice came from a young man leaning against the fountain nearby. Looking around, one would come to the conclusion that this was the center of town. Many people were walking about, but none seemed to pay the group of unconscious people any mind, as if this was normal.

Kornell looks at the young man in confusion "did you wake up here too?" he ask. he takes notice that another has awoken after him

Kan glance at the man for and was about to speak when he remember the mask on his face as he was still wearing his prison-like clothes. Ripping the mask off roughly with a silent gasp, he stood up and noticed the passerby didn't pay any mind to them. "Why...?" he question quietly while rubbing his jaw.

"I did... A long time ago..." He sighed, then smiled. "Welcome, newbies, to Mu. The world of nothingness. This is the city of Zweiluna, named so for... well." He pointed upward, drawing attention to the two moons over head.

Kornell followed his point and looked wide eyed at the two moons

Kan glance at the two moons before shaking his head in disbelief. "... How and why am I here?" he question the man softly as he toss the mask aside, glad to be rid of it.

"death" Kornell answered blatantly

Kan nodded to Kornell in agreement. "So your saying... this is where we go after death?" He grimace a bit.
Title: Re: Welcome to nothingness (Day 1)
Post by: Lord Mu on October 09, 2014, 06:59:27 pm
The man nodded. "This is what comes after. Mu. Nothingness. Similar to the idea of Purgatory, I suppose... Doesn't seem to lead to a heaven or hell though. It is a lot like earth. You live, age, die... People live here, children are born here... The only differences are people like you... and what lies beyond the city walls..."

this was too much for Kornell, he ran a hand through his hair in frustration and looked at the moons again "and what exactly is beyond the city walls?"

Post by: Kanhel on October 09, 2014, 11:41:45 pm
Kan shook his head again and went to sit down at the fountain's edge away from the man, but close enough to hear him and Kornell still. "This is insane..."

He sighed. "We all have to come to terms with it... To answer your question... Beyond the walls is the domain of Lord Mu. He, his knights, and their demon legion... There are several cities just like this one out there, but they are few and far between, making traveling between them a task only the strong and the foolish undertake..."

Kornell nodded in agreement and looked and crossed his arms "So this Mu guy is the ruler here?.....and what do we do now? Carry on our second lives"

Kan continue to listen quietly from his spot before adding another question he had in mind. "... Can anyone that died from previous world come here? Or is it only certain peoples?"
Title: Re: Welcome to nothingness (Day 1)
Post by: Lord Mu on October 11, 2014, 11:32:59 pm
The man looked to Kanhel first. "It seems to be luck of the draw, as this place isn't over populated. I don't know where the others go, so this could be the lucky draw." He then looked to Kornell. "You have two options here. Live life until you die again... Or take the God's Challenge. Lord Mu has claimed to be willing to grant one wish to anyone that can reach him... However, to get to him, you have to defeat his royal guards. Each holds a piece of 'the key' to his palace. Many have tried, hoping to regain the life they lost... Mostly hopeless lovers and overly cocky kids..."

Kornell crossed his arms again "hmmmm........"
Title: Re: Welcome to nothingness (Day 1)
Post by: Kanhel on October 12, 2014, 08:15:18 pm
Kan looked relieve at his answer to his question. He thinks about his two option, both seem good to him for different reason. "One wish... Did anyone ever accomplished that task to get a single wish? What if it not true and in the end it was all for nothing?" he question the man with raised eyebrow.

"so what about you....you said you used to be like us right? what was your choice?" Kornell asked. he looked toward the woman who woke and gave a welcoming smile "hello and welcome to your second life, would you like to die again or maybe live a little then die?" he said sarcastically out of frustration with the situation.

He sighed. "Don't scare the poor girl. She just came to... To answer your question, I've been waiting here for quite a while... I've been waiting for a promising group I thought could make it so maybe I could too... But while doing that, I've kinda become the guy who explains the situation to the new arrivals. It may not be fun, but its necessary. I've seen rash decisions made by people with no information..."

Daphne blinked as she tried to make sense of what everyone was saying. "Die again" she asked. "Wait..." She tried to think back to what she could remember before all the darkness. "What?! That **** killed me?!" She suddenly became very aware of her situation and jumped up, looking around as if he was still there.

Kan jumped at the shout in surprise and raised his eyebrow at the woman looking around; at first he thought she was one of his victims but quickly dismissed the thought after not recognizing her. "Probably someone else..." he muttered softly.

"Relax, miss. You're safe... for now..." He told her, waving her down. "Sit, relax while you can..."
The man nodded to Kornell. "Just as much as any other group I've seen... Like I said, I wanted to find a good group... But I've taken up this position instead. It isn't fun, but its necessary"

Daphne nodded and her body relaxed out of it's defensive stance. She eyed the three men warily but walks over to sit and join them. "Good group for what" she asks, missing the first part of the conversation.

"and here I was thinking I looked like gold but instead im more like silver" Kornell says. he looks at Daphne and then to Kanhel "how about we get to know each other....and catch the little lady up on things. Then maybe we can come to a decision on our.....second chance"

"Kan, that all you need to know about me." The silver haired boy answers simply as he lean into the fountain to look at his reflection, seeing the prison barcode on under his left eye. "The guy want us to go with him to travels to collect the keys and enter the Lord's palace who will grant a single wish; assuming it true that is and if we don't die along the way." He explains to the young woman softly as he lean back up.

"I suppose I'll introduce myself as well. I am Kaji, the hunter. I died fighting a demon in a forest near my home village, and I've been here ever since..." He got quiet for a moment, but soon stood up. "If you are all ready to head out, I can give you some basic arms I've collected and guide you toward the next town."

After a short walk, Kaji enters a two floor building and held the door for everyone. Once inside, they would see a moderately comfortable home with two couches around a fireplace, and a kitchen off to the side as a semi connected room. As they entered, he headed toward the upstairs. "All the weapons are up here. Make yourselves at home and I'll be right back."

Kaji could be heard above, heading to the stairs. Metal and chains could be heard clanging together. "Sounds pretty balanced to me. Should be great if you work well together." As he came down the stairs, they would see the source of the metallic sounds. He was carrying all the weapons on top of the shield, save for the quiver and bow, and a long sword, both of which he held on his back. The shield held 2 books on top, a short sword, a dagger, and 3 sets of chain mail on the bottom. He started distributing the items, starting with the pair of books* and short sword for the spellcaster, then the bow, arrows, dagger, and a set of throwing knives in a pouch off his own belt for the assassin. Finally for the warrior, he gave the longsword, as well as an elegant shield. After emptying the shields contents, he distributed the chain mail. They would each find that the armor was somehow the right size for them. **

*Note: The spellbooks are 'Basic Illusions' and 'Soul weapon vol.1: soul arrows and weapon enchantments'
**Any item not depicted is about as basic as one can imagine.

Daphne let out a feminine squeal of delight as she was handed the spell books. She hugged them tightly to her chest as if to absorb the information they carried that way. She then moved to the short sword and admired it.

((love that the pic you chose is the Book of Shadows from Charmed XD))

Hearing the noises he open his eyes and see Kaji handing him the new equipments. He studies the bow and arrow first and then to the pouch before clipping it to his belt and put the dagger in the front of his pant to keep it hidden but easily accessible. "... Thanks." He said with a short nod as he stood up to put on the chest mail, mildly surprise to see it fit before putting his black jacket back on. "Can't hurt to learn." He mutters as he put the bow and arrow on his back.

Kornell smiled at Daphnes enthusiasm and looked to Kaji as he brought down the items "this shield is nice" Kornell says and puts the shield on his right arm "the weight is almost perfect" he says, giving it a few test bash and moves before taking it off and going for the long sword. a wide grin spread across his face as he picked it up "hello my friend...look how you glisten...look how you shine...in the light, my friiiiiiend" he sang softly and felt the sword out. he looked at Kaji "this sword is the perfect weight distribution" he places the sword down and takes off his red coat and puts on the mail. surprising it fit....perfectly. he puts his red jacket back on and puts the shield on his back and ties the sword to his belt "oh!! would you happen to have another short sword?"

While wearing the shield, Kornell feels an odd boost in energy. It isn't overwhelming, or too noticeable, but it is certainly there.
Kaji smiled as he saw them all take to their weapons. He nodded to Kornell. "A few. Gonna need one?" He asked, heading to the stairs again.

(I had no idea what the books were from XD I just thought they looked cool.  Glad you're pleased with them though)

"There is a bathroom at the end of that hall" He said, pointing to a hallway to the right of the stairs. Noone could recall seeing it before, but would likely attribute it to not paying enough attention. It was kinda dark after all, so missing it would make sense. He hit the wall as he headed back up the stairs and small floating flames sparked to life along the walls of the hallway. "... That trick is in your illusion book by the way" He said with a smirk.

Kaji watched them as they reacted to the little trick. "Interesting..." He mumbled to himself before going all the way back up the stairs. He soon returned with two more short swords. He gave one to Kornell, and handed the other to Kanhel. Even though he didn't ask for it, Kaji figured why leave one of them without one?

(Can you explain the weapon/armor rating and also should we list the items we currently have in the equipment section?)
Title: Re: Welcome to nothingness (Day 1)
Post by: Lord Mu on October 20, 2014, 09:01:40 pm
(Yeah, sorry. No combat yet so I was not thinking. I'm going to go basic. the # assigned is the items strength. When armor is struck by a weapon, if they are equal, the damage is minimized. Swords are augmented by melee, which means they are added together. Same with armor. In retrospect, should have just called it strength XP Distance attacks such as arrows work with range in a similar way. MAgic gets abit more complicated, averaging the stats used. So, for example, a soul arrow would use both magic and range, and rather than having a base strength, will simply scale. Also, enchantments with the current spell book are temporary, but adds magic strength straight to the augmented weapon.
Short swords-4
Dagger-2
Long Sword-6
Shield- 5
chain mail-5
Bow and arrow-4
throwing knives-1

From now on, I'll give the weapon or armor strength when they are first presented.)

Kaji snapped his fingers and the lights went back out. He looked at the group and smiled. "Looking ready guys." He said before going onto his kitchen. He started packing up some basic food into a bag for them. It wouldn't last too long, but it would get them through a few days. A week if they ration it well. "In life, id have suggested waiting till sunrise, but the sun never comes here, so no sense in that..." He came back into the room with the bag and held it out for one of them to take.

Kaji nodded and headed out, leading them. Soon, they reached the edge of the town of Zewiluna. Beyond this abrupt end was a large open field, the world still tinted a purple hue beyond. Far across this field was a line of trees that seemed to take up the whole foreseeable horizon, as if there were no way to circumvent it. In the field, closer to the tree line, one could see some odd creatures roaming around. However, they were few and far apart.
"This is as far as I go, I'm afraid. The closest village is beyond those woods... I wish you all the luck. I would pray for your safe travels as well, but the only god here is why I must be concerned in the first place..."

(Tis quite alright. Life takes priority ofcorse :) )

Kaji laughed. "I would, but like I've said, its my job here to help the newbies. Someone has to keep them from running out here empty handed."
Kaji waved for awhile after they left, leaving only once they were out of ear shot. Once they were that far, they had come upon the forests edge. The creatures about them were far enough away that they would not yet pursue them. Ahead, the trees were thick, and it became far darker than it was out in the open. The farther one would peer into the darkness, the more they would feel something was returning this gaze.

Without a glance or wave goodbye to Kaji, Kan continue to follow behind Kornell toward the forest edge. As he peer in, he took the bow off his back and grip it a bit; making sure the creatures stay at a safe distance and not wanting to get caught off-guard after feeling something returning his gaze. "We need light-source..." He quietly noted how dark it looked further in.

Kornell laughed at Kajis remarks and continued on. He keeps the creatures in his side vision. once Kanhel drew his bow he settled down due to someone else being on alert. He then focuses in on the forest. As he felt as if something was looking back at him he never broke eye contact with the darkness. "Hey Daphne...wouldn't happen to have some sort of light spell for this forest would you?" he asked and stepped farther into the forest breaking it's edge and entering. Kornell draws his Long Sword and Shield and looks around for material that could make a light source in case Daphne had no spell.

The obvious loose tree branches scattered about would be easy to start a fire with. The downed branches are many in number, as if they were often broken off by the creatures here just from them moving about. Out in the dark, the peering eyes of what one would assume were said creatures faded in and out of sight, stealing any way to figure out their numbers.

Kanhel followed Kornell behind as he look around, making mental note to buy a compass and a map once they arrives in the next village. "Better hurry... We're not alone obviously." he whisper to Kornell and Daphne, grabbing an arrow out of his quiver after noticing something fading in and out of sight in the dark.

seeing the proper components on the forest floor, he gets to work making a torch. He smiles to himself and looks at the finished product. A think branch stuffed with dead leaves in a hole on one end. He takes his swords and clashes them together to get a spark on the Torch. Flames burst to life and Kornell picks the torch up with one hand, sheathing his long sword and keeping his short sword out. "Let's go" Kornell says and makes his way farther in to the forest.

The shadows are momentarily exposed as quadruped wolf-like beasts with black fur and glowing eyes. They seem much smaller than the creatures outside the forest, and very clearly unrelated. Soon after they see the fire, they run off deeper into the forest. Ahead lie many thick trees that would be very difficult to maneuver around. However, not far from the groups location seems to be a path cutting through the forest, likely made by past travelers. The path leads to the left and right, and the darkness of the forest prevent one from seeing far enough ahead to see if they take any turns.

Kan noted the strange beasts' reaction to the fire and follow behind Kornell quietly as he put his bow and arrow back on his back and pull his short-sword instead; realizing that the darkness would hinder his aim.

Kornell reassures is grip on his sword but calms down once the wolves run back into the darkness. he looks into the thick of trees as if looking for a route before seeing the path "it leads two directions" Kornell says aloud but only loud enough for him and the others to hear "which way should we go?"

As you walk, the creatures from before, as well as some humanoid looking ones* can be seen running about or staring. They keep their distance, however, not wanting to come into the light. As you walk along, the path gently curves, but does not split into separate paths for quite a while. On occasion, small lights can be seen in the distance, up higher than the eyes of the creatures of the forest. Usually only one light can be seen at a time, but sometimes two are seen near eachother.
After much walking, you will see a light in the distance. This light is a clearing in the forest. Across from where you enter is the continuation of your path, and at the clearings center, a tree. The tree is much larger and thicker than the ones that make up the forest, and small odd orbs of light adorn its branches, casting a glow over the area akin to that of a lamp.
Sitting at the base of the tree is a young woman**, her eyes closed, holding a sheathed katana close to her.

Kornell takes note of the lights high in the trees "I feel famous with all these eyes watching me" Kornell said with a wry smile. he stops when he notices the woman in the distance. he looks down the continuing path and then back to her. he doesn't ask Kanhels opinion this time and walks through the forest to the young woman. "hi" he says with a smile, trying to be friendly. he stays at the edge of the tree. barely in its lamp like light(say that ten times fast lol)

Kanhel stayed quiet as they follow the path and didn't follow Kornell when he went to greet the woman. Instead he stay at the edge of the clearing away, unsure of his surrounding and the girl with the katana as he still grip his shortsword.

The young woman moves quickly to her feet in reaction to the sound of another person. She quickly draws her sword and directs her ruby red eyes on Kornell, wary of his presence.
"Who are you?" She asks coldly. "Hands in the air, step closer so I can see you. Your friend too." She demands, glancing at Kanhel.

The woman was silent for a moment. After considering the situation, she sheathed her sword. "This is the forests center, its heart. The reason it is so bright here, why this tree gives off these orbs of light. It keeps the beasts away. They tend to avoid light because they mistake it for these orbs..." She paused for a moment  before returning to her place at the base of the tree, letting out a relaxed sigh, and even letting a smile creep across her lips. She seemed to feel safer knowing what little she did of them for some reason. "As for me, I am here to take care of a particularly troublesome beast. There is a serpent-like creature out here somewhere. It has been attacking Eridanus, the village you plan to visit, kidnapping and presumably eating the villagers." She paused again, giving them a smirk. "If you were to help, I am sure the village would see fit to reward your efforts as best they can."

as she relaxed Kornell did the same. her story caused him to give the tree a second look "heart of the forest?" he thought to himself and pictured the tree having a heartbeat. Kornell looked back at Kanhel and gave him a look as if saying "shall we?"

Kan didn't relax yet after putting his hands down, not quite ready to trust the girl although he doesn't trust Kornell either. He now understand the tree's importance after hearing the story and notice Kornell giving him a glance which he respond with a nod.

"Excelent!" She said happily. "Ok, so this serpent... Hes not so afraid of the tree. I was... Kinda waiting for him."
As soon as the words left her lips, they would hear movement behind them, like the trees being pushed aside. She had fixed her gaze on where they came in, her sword drawn again. For a moment, the great serpent peaked his head into the entrance, but then continued to move around, circling the area of light like a shark.
"Speak of the devil..." She said with a sigh. "He wont come into the area of the trees light for long, but that doesn't mean we are safe. Be ready."

Kornell turned toward the serpent and backed himself under the light of the tree more. he jabs the torch into the ground and draws his long sword and shield. Kornell nodded to her warning and stepped ahead of the two. Kornell stood with his knees slightly bent to move easier and to also protect more of his body with his shield.

Kan's eyes widen which quickly turn to glare directed both at Scarlet and at the serpent as he turn around and step back quickly toward the tree, pulling his bow and arrows off his back. He then get a steady aim with his weapon in ready position, his dull red eyes following the serpent's movement, waiting for it to stop moving.

Scarlet held her free hand out, and closed her eyes. When the serpent made another pass around, her palm began to glow. "Erubescant ex anima vestra" She called out toward the beast, but nothing seemed to happen. After a moment, she smirked and lowered her hand. "Serpent type T (toxic). Poisonous bite, constrict. Strenght 10, speed 15. Health level 80, no magical capability... Weakness: Electricity, Magic" She recited these statistics absentmindedly as she readied her sword. "I am going to immobilize it momentarily. When I do, unleash all the force you can on it at once. If you have any special skills, do not hesitate to use them." She took a starting position, as if she was a runner on a track. As she took her position, the serpent made its final lap around before beginning to move its head into the circle. "Go!" She shouted, and took off at the creature, her movement kicking back a small gust of wind. As she ran, she slid her thumb across the blade of her sword, and it began to glow a faint blue when it touched her blood. The serpent lunged at her as she drew closer, but she dodged to the left, and began dragging the blade across its scales on that side in one elegant motion. It quickly tried to turn itself toward her, but it spasmed and stopped moving, its eyes widened.

"Elemental Juggernaut!" Kornell yells and rushes forward after her. as he runs elemental orbs form around him and begin spinning. the one that stops in front of him covers his armor and weapons(DM chooses). as he closes in he puts his shield up. his body moves forward as if sliding across the ground with incredible speed and rams into the Serpents face and shoves upward hoping to push his head high enough where Kanhel could get a clear shot.

Kanhel was puzzled by Scarlet's way of explaining but was even more surprised to see Kornell showing a special skill. He quickly shook the confusion off and with a good focus and aim, he let the arrow fly true aiming for the serpent's head after Kornell knock it up, follow up by two more arrows in rapid succession.

Kornells bash ends up on Fire, scorching the serpent where he made contact. Kanhels arrows then strike all within the burned area, piercing the serpent through its bottom jaw and into the top of its head. The beast spews blood as it lets out a pained roar before its head falls to the ground, pushing the arrows straight through its skull. Scarlet comes back up to the front of the beast as it finally stops moving. She looked at the serpent and poked it with the tip of her sword a few times. "... Well done, guys!" She says with a smile as she jabs at it. "That was way easier than I thought it would be!"

(Tis fine :) Glad to see this isnt simply dead. And happy late thanksgiving. Hope you guys had good ones)

The path was straight and didn't take long. Soon they came out to an open field similar to the one they entered from, complete with the same creatures as before. In the clearing, one could see that the light had changed. It had taken a dark blue hue, noticeably different from the purple light of Zweiluna. This light came from a small star-like orb in the sky above a somewhat large walled in village. If one looked into the distance beyond, to the left is a mountain range stretching back to an unknown point behind the forest, and ahead much past this new town, into the horizon. Ahead past the village also seems to be a flowing river that starts from a waterfall on the mountain.

Coming upon the village walls, the party is greeted by two young men standing guard over this sides entrance. One is platinum blond*, the other has black hair**.
"What brings yo-- SCARLET!!!" The dark haired man yells, cutting himself off as he takes the petit women in his arms. "I am so glad you are back! The whole village has been worried about you! They all thought you went off to fight that monster!"
Scarlet laughs and pats the mans head, prompting him to release her. "Well actually..." She said with a smirk before glancing at Kanhel, wanting him to show off their trophy.

Kanhel was quiet during their trek and was secretly relieved of having finally left the forest. The sky caught his interests, but the colors reminded him yet again that he was in a different world. He was watching the guard hugging Scarlet with his hands in pocket until she gave him a glance. Knowing what she means, he rolled his eyes before pulling out the two large fangs with both hands from his pockets. Due to having been holding onto the fangs in his pocket during their walk, his hands were also stained in the now dried blood that coated the fangs; not that the boy care.

Scarlet smiled and nodded. "See? Your little sis ain't so little anymore, is she?" She said with a giggle.

The blond, regaining his composure, gestured for them to follow him. "The elders will want to hear of this right away."

As they walked, Scarlet and the dark haired man talked to eachother and the blond lead the way. With a wandering eye, they would see that this village was not as lively as Zweiluna, and was a bit smaller. The light above was noticeably weaker than that provided by the dual moons. After making it a ways into the village, Scarlet finally paid attention to the two travelers.
"I always forget this sort of thing." She said apologetically, now walking backward to face them. "Kornell, Kanhel, this is my brother Azure (The black haired boy waves and gives a smile) and my cousin Emerald. (The blond gave a half hearted wave without turning any attention from their destination)." She turned back to them. "Guys, these are the traveling heroes who helped me kill that bastard serpent."
"Coulda figured that one out..."

Scarlet smiled, and along with her brother and cousin, lead the pair into a larger building with a more elaborate design to show its significance. Inside sat two elderly people. One man, one woman... As expected, considering these are the village elders. *
As the pair entered, they would see their 3 guides give a short respectful before sitting down. Scarlet seemed really happy. "Show them, Kanhel. Granny, you are gonna fli--" She was cut off when she was jabbed by Emeralds elbow. She responded with a glare and an attempt at slapping him, though he moved his head to dodge. "So it is dead?" Asked the old man in shock.
The old woman wore a big smile. "Did you expect anything less from our granddaughter?" She replied with a laugh. She then directed her gaze onto the two travelers. "Well done, kids! We simply must reward you for your hand in this. This beast has plagued us for quite some time... But first tell us, what brought you to those woods in the first place? The elders nodded. "I see. Then I suppose some travel supplies would help, wouldn't they. We could reward your services in food, a map... Maybe a tent? What would help you in your travels?"

'That right... I need to figure out how to cast spells if I want to survive in this world.' Even Kornell seem to possess special skills too.

As they returned to the open stretch of field they came from, Scarlet stopped and  pointed at a small creature. The creature resembled a fox, and it stopped as she pointed to it. It then smirked and transformed into a copy of her, though it still had its fox ears. Scarlet smirked in return and held her hand out at it. A light glow begins to form on her palm. "This is a simple spell, so it wont take too much to learn. Start by paying close attention to the words..." She took a deep breath and spoke much more slowly this time. "Erubescant ex anima vestra..." After a moment, she lowered her hand. "Mirror Fox. Transformation and Mimicry are its abilities. Strength 2, Speed 10, Health level 20. Magical ability: Illusion Magic, minor fire magic. Weakness: Limited time transformation, fear of dogs..."  After she finished, she sighed and smiled at the Fox before clicking her sword from its sheath. The fox instantly transformed back and ran off, and Scarlet put her sword back.
"The spell means, more or less, "Reveal to me your shameful soul."... Remember that as you cast the spell. Think you are ready to try it yourselves?"

Kornell repeated the spell over and over in his head before nodding "I think I am ready"

'Erubescant ex anima vestra... Reveal to me your shameful soul...' The words keep repeating in Kan's mind, wondering how it truly works as he nods his head along with Kornell, signaling that he was ready too.

She nodded and pointed out another creature, this one was the same kind that lurked near the treeline on the Zweiluna side.
"Now focus your energy on your target and speak the words confidently."
The creature turned its head toward them and stared, though it didn't move toward them yet.

Kornell looked at the creature and visualized his energy focusing like a wind tunnel around the creature "Erubescant ex anima vestra" he said with confidence.

Kanhel tilt his head for a moment at the creature before focusing his energy toward the creature, pointing his left palm at it. "... Erubescant ex anima vestra." He mutters softly, but still managed to sound confidence.

Upon uttering the words, they both hear a voice that is simultaneously male and female, both adult and child. It is confusing, but its message rings clear. Capra Demon.......... Str...th 15. Sp... 6. Hea....vel............ W.....ess: Holy Ma..., Weak Stomach A... Much of it comes in as if through a bad phone connection.
Scarlet smiles. "How clear did it come in? The first time I did it, I could barely hear anything."

Kornell grabbed at his sword not expecting a voice. his surprise soon turned to utter confusion at trying to make out what the voice was saying. "all I got was Capra Demon...."

Kanhel frown briefly at the strange voice but soon his expression was wipe at Scarlet's explanation. "... Capra Demon, two numbers. Something about Weak stomach and holy." he say softly after Kornell answers, running his hand through his white hair. "That all I got."

Scarlett seemed surprised for a moment, then smiled again. "That's better than I expected. Especially you, Kanhel. That's better than most get their first time... Now it just takes practice! Soon you will be able to learn anything you want about a target at will."

Kornell wasn't too surprised at his lack of magical understanding. he pats Kanhel on the back and smiles "good job Kan"

Kan didn't reply and simply shook his head in disbelief to their words. He only managed to get bits by bits as the whole message itself was still difficult to understand. "... Is this how normally you learn other different spells?" He suddenly asks, wondering if maybe he could get his hand on other spells that would... suit him more.

Scarlet nodded. "New spells always take time. However, if you know a similar spell, sometimes they come easier. For example, if you have mastered a spell to produce water, one to produce ice would come easier as well. If you master this spell, you are in the class of augmented perception spells, meaning spells that strengthen your senses will come easier."
