(Yeah, sorry. No combat yet so I was not thinking. I'm going to go basic. the # assigned is the items strength. When armor is struck by a weapon, if they are equal, the damage is minimized. Swords are augmented by melee, which means they are added together. Same with armor. In retrospect, should have just called it strength XP Distance attacks such as arrows work with range in a similar way. MAgic gets abit more complicated, averaging the stats used. So, for example, a soul arrow would use both magic and range, and rather than having a base strength, will simply scale. Also, enchantments with the current spell book are temporary, but adds magic strength straight to the augmented weapon.
Short swords-4
Dagger-2
Long Sword-6
Shield- 5
chain mail-5
Bow and arrow-4
throwing knives-1

From now on, I'll give the weapon or armor strength when they are first presented.)
